L15 Front Mount Intercooler launches for the 2016+ Honda Civic

Intercooler kits have always been a popular upgrade for factory turbocharged cars like your 10th gen Civics. But what makes up an “intercooler upgrade” can vary quite a lot with regards to how complete they are. With the 27WON system you are getting a full kit; Intercooler core, larger pipes, silicone, clamps, and hardware for a true bolt-on solution. You need a full kit, not just a bigger core. Upgrading just the core without touching the pipes is like skipping leg day. It will only get you so far because you are leaving a lot on the table. Many other companies would have you believe that the tallest and fattest core you can fit behind the bumper is the best that you could get for your car. That is not true at all. Core size is a balance of finding the right height, width, and density. This ensures you get one that cools the incoming charge air, maintains as low of a pressure drop as possible, and can support your current and future power goals. Our team tested six different core densities to find the one that delivers best overall performance for this platform. With a sub 0.70psi pressure drop and reduction in air temps of more than 60 deg F we selected a core that works for your engine not the other way around.

It was one thing to determine the best core for the CivicX and it was another to truly optimize it. In order to make sure to use the full surface area of our upgraded core we introduced a unique cast airfoil design into the inlet tank. This wing inside the end-tank helps distribute air flow across the entire core making sure we get full use of our upgraded core and not just part of it. This is a feature you won’t find in any other kit for the platform.

Our kit also includes much larger intercooler piping. By increasing the size of both the hot and cold pipes our FMIC will support well over 500whp while improving throttle response and transient response. We pair the core and pipes with our 4-ply wire reinforced silicone to make sure all the boosted air gets to your intake manifold with no pressure loss. 

We top it off with an integrated bung to allow you to fit auxiliary fueling. 

Powa? Unfortunately, it’s very common to see big horsepower claims on aftermarket parts that you can’t get yourself. Tricks are used like running ‘before’ on a hot car and ‘after’ on a cold one, or running multiples times and choosing the most favorable ones for comparison. Perhaps the most devious is running these tests on a massively upgraded car or one that is tuned to the limit and not saying as much. We publish power numbers that are real and repeatable.
