2019, A year in Review; (a message from one enthusiast to another)
This time last year I wrote a letter to you sharing a summary of 2018 which was our first whole year of business. When I wrote that letter I told myself that I would write you a new one every year around the same time for three reasons. First, so I can share our brand’s experiences. Second, to be able to give you a deeper look into what's involved to REDEFINE the Honda aftermarket. Finally, so that in 5,10,20 years from now I can look back to where we came from to be reminded of what the community we've built together looked like back then.
This 2nd year was just as big as the first. We acquired our Civic Type R at the start of 2019 which gave us our 3rd 10th generation Civic. Another car to solidify our exclusive commitment to the Honda/Acura brand. We met our goal to attend more shows, events, and races. We made the haul down for the Hondata experience, Eibach Meet SoCal, and FF Battle 11. I even personally flew in for the end of the year all xgen meet that had over 200+ 10th gens in one place. It was epic and my personal favorite trip of the year. Between these road trips, some track days, and tons of product testing our Civics got tons of miles on them this year.
Another thing I enjoyed was getting the community involved in our projects. Your direct feedback on the forums, blogs, and social media directly influenced the design of our leather shift knob, window vents, and SI exhaust system. These were all parts you guys genuinely helped create and thus became a part of. We just didn’t design something ourselves and say here you go, but rather we created what you wanted. This is something we are proud of.
2019 did not come without its problems. While we have been blessed at the opportunity to grow 27WON at a very rapid pace this growth presents many challenges. Taking care of our customers is and always will be our #1 priority. Making sure the experience you have with us is the best it can be and does not change as we get larger is crucial. The team and I have been working tons behind the scenes to make sure every interaction you have with us is the very best. There is lots of work you will never see on our Instagram stories or YouTube videos but it’s what ensures we give you a memory that will last.
Streamlining product development has been another big focus of the year. It’s been important that the team creates the processes needed to create parts that REDEFINE that aftermarket. It takes more time, more testing, more trial and error then traditional part making but its another piece of what makes 27WON different from your basic "here is another metal pipe and filter intake company. "
As we roll into 2020 we have some VERY BIG changes happening. Like WAY BIG. I mentioned we are growing and growing so look out for some exciting announcements in the coming months. We have some long-awaited projects almost ready to roll out. Our L15 FMIC and FK8 exhaust will be hitting the streets this winter and because I know you are all going to ask, yes, our L15 turbo inlet pipe is getting closer and closer.
2020 shows absolutely no signs of slowing down. With a renewed focus on our core strengths we will continue to refine the processes we use to do what we do.
I want to thank all of you for being a part of our journey and allowing us to be a part of yours. It means the world to me that you would choose 27WON as your preferred brand for all things 2016+ Honda. We can’t wait to continue your build with you.
Living life a quarter-mile at a time.
