2020, The most intense year yet, a letter from us to you
Each year around this time I write a letter to you. First, so I can share our brand’s experiences. Second, to share with you how we REDEFINE the Honda aftermarket. I hope that many years from now we can look back and be reminded of the community we've built together and the progress we’ve made.
I ended my letter last year by announcing we had some VERY BIG changes for 2020 and that was an understatement! Unless you have been under a rock for the last 9 months I don’t need to tell you just how intense and unpredictable this year has been. As if trying to navigate the various shutdowns from COVID-19 was not enough, let me just break down some of our other biggest moments in 2020.
1) We relocated our business from Vancouver, Washington to Las Vegas, Nevada
Arguably the highlight of our year was the move of our world headquarters from WA to NV. We spent our New Year’s Day 2020 driving a rig over 1000 miles to make the move. This move served a lot of purposes for us including being better located for quicker shipping times, being able to test more frequently due to the drier weather, and being closer to our largest group of customers.
2) A new city means a new building
Of course with a big move comes a new home. We left our smaller space in WA for a lot that’s nearly an acre. This was a huge upgrade for us. No longer are we cramped into a “unit x” slot-like almost every other parts company, we have our own fully gated and customized space. We made some big progress towards getting our new house together for you guys and some of you have stopped by already. Our build-out continues so be sure and swing by in 2021 and see what a shop looks like when it's truly catered to you.
3) A new building also means new equipment.
In case you missed the blog from a couple of weeks ago, we not only went all-in on a new building for the 2016+ Honda community, but we also doubled down on new equipment; New automotive lifts, new dyno, new computers, new CAD software, and more. We spent this year gearing up so we can bring the latest tech into 2021.
4) Fresh faces
Our team grew exponentially over the past year. We are committed to bringing on sharp young enthusiasts who care about your cars as much as you do.
Any one of those tasks is a big thing on its own. You do all of that plus grow a business at a rapid rate during a pandemic, and yeah 2020 kicked our butts.
Our aim is not to be a good Honda parts company, we want to be the best. We want to take care of each and every single one of you with the best experience, parts, and advice.
As for 2021, I hope things get back to a more of a “normal” state. I know well enough that it will take several months for things to settle out. As always, we have a bunch of projects in the works including a few skunkworks. We hope to be seeing you at a race or meet soon. I’m feeling pretty good that 2021 will be our best year ever, I hope that it is for you as well.
Thank you again for letting us be a part of your build and for choosing to REDEFINE the Aftermarket with us.
