How to Disable Traction Control Honda Civic 10th Gen (VSA turn off)
If you are planning to head to a dyno soon for some tuning or maybe your local drag strip or race track then this is going to be an important blog for you to take note of. So much so that I suggest saving a bookmark on your mobile device or print out a copy of this blog for your glovebox.
Your 2016-2021 tenth-generation Honda Civic has many computers, systems, and dash lights. These various systems are designed to keep you safe on when driving on public roads. However, as a performance enthusiast looking to shave seconds off your lap times, these systems can be a bit of a hindrance. They can make you feel less connected with your car. Below we are going to talk about one specific system, what it does and how to turn it off.
Your CivicX comes with a system called Vehicle Stability Assist or VSA for short. This system is a feature on all late model Hondas that is designed to help you stay safe by keeping your car under control in emergency situations. In various risky times like in a skid or slipping on ice the VSA can perform functions that the driver behind the wheel can't do. These are things like the ability to brake individual wheels, cut engine power, engage steering input, and more. However, when we want to push the car to the limits off-road these safety features get in our way and we want to be able to ignore them.
Check out this video we made to show you how to disable your VSA.

And that’s it. Please use these instructions off-road only and at your own risk. The system will reset every time you turn the car off.
