And the Winner is... Turbo Inlet Pipe Raffle Results

During the last week of March, we gave everyone the opportunity to win our first-ever production Turbo Inlet Pipe for the 10th Gen Honda Civic L15. We conducted a raffle over the course of a few days to raise money for the COVID-19 Community Response and Recovery Fund presented by United Way. This pandemic is something that has affected us all and we wanted to do our part to help the cause. On April 3rd we tallied up the results and we announced our winner live on Instagram. This blog is our follow up on your tremendous support.

We are pleased to announce that we were able to donate $4500 towards the COVID-19 relief efforts on behalf of the CivicX community.

This amount far exceeded our expectations. We couldn’t be more proud and thankful for the 10th gen Civic owners that donated. In a time that is tough for many this group of Honda lovers came together and helped those in need.

Jack Vang of Georgia was the winner of our Turbo Inlet Pipe but after winning he actually had to sell his car and David Whitman of Kentucky managed to swoop up the coveted serial #01-001. We were given the opportunity to learn about David, his car, and what he thought of our TIP so the story of 01-001 lives on!

Originally from Jersey, David now resides a few states over in Kentucky. His career is in Sales and Retail management by day and he is also a home chef by night. He’s been a gear head since before he could drive. David’s 2018 Honda Civic SI is his first Honda and he wasted no time going after the mods.

A cold air intake, flex-fuel tune courtesy of KTuner, and now our upgraded turbo inlet pipe make up the engine mods. While David is still ramping up the go-fast bits, his Honda’s footwork is quite impressive consisting of some Eibach lowering springs and sway bar, end links from Whiteline, and a clean set of Konig Lockouts in 18x8.5.

When asked about his out of the box impression of our new inlet pipe for the 2016+ Civic David said:

“Beautiful. Powder-coated. All the proper hardware and replacement lines came neatly packaged in the box along with a card which was labeled 01-001 (as if that didn't make my inner ricer giggle in excitement).”

We then asked what he thought about how it performs:

“You can NEVER go wrong with more airflow and it certainly compliments my intake nicely. The gain was noticeable for me, especially lower in the RPM range. Power was more sudden underneath 4000 rpm. The car didn't seem to struggle to accelerate as much from a stop and the improved sounds that the car made reminds me of a band of unicorns singing all at once.

Our team was excited to host this raffle and donate the proceeds to the United Way. I want to thank David for sharing his story and to all of you who donated to fight the good fight. If you guys liked the raffle leave a comment below and let us know if we should do another one soon.
