Another option for Honda Performance Engine Mounts (cast your vote)
We need your feedback. We’d like to know how interested you are in a rear motor mount for your CivicX. Is price a factor for you? What about the bold Orange color? Too much for you?
It’s been a few years since we blogged about motor mounts but we have not stopped thinking about them. If you want to learn more about why you need a rear motor mount then be sure and check out our previous blog here. If you want to read more about how our Billet Rear Motor Mount came to be then check out our design blogs part 1 and part 2.
Now imagine a Rear Motor Mount that performs at the same top-level as our original RMM but allows for a more subtle, dare I say, stealthy look and it comes in at a price tag $30 less. You may be asking yourself, “How can that be?” well the answer is cast, but first lets dive into that a bit more.
First let's talk about cast parts. We all know that in the automotive industry cast parts are a staple, even the OEM FK8 rear motor mount is cast. Casting has made its mark in the automotive world because it is affordable. It is one way that we can bring you a less expensive version of our rear motor mount. A challenge with cast parts is that we must invest in expensive molds to make them. The popularity of our existing RMM has given us the confidence to explore the investment necessary to bring down the cost for our customers. We need your feedback to know if there is a high demand for a more affordable alternative from 27WON.
Now let's talk about finishes. A cast RMM wouldn’t be sporting our flashy Orange anodization. Anodizing is out of the question because it doesn’t look good on cast parts. So instead our Cast RMM would rock the same durable wrinkle black powder coating we use for our Turbo Inlet Pipe and upcoming Front Strut Tower Bar. What do you think about black? Other colors?
Should we move forward with a Cast Rear Motor Mount? Would you like a more affordable RMM option from 27WON?
The ball is in your court, let us know what you think in the comments!
