They are relatively cheap, easy to get, and once you have tried it you can’t help but want to come back for more.

Today we are purveyors of your addiction and are happy to share with you below the details of our new Short Ram Intake (SRI) system for the 2022+ Honda Civic and 2023+ Acura Integra equipped with the 1.5L turbocharged engine.

Before we get into the details of this SRI, let's first take a trip down memory lane to blog #2 for our upcoming 27WON Cold Air Intake that we are working on. You may have heard that SRIs bring increased intake air temperature (IAT). This is true and it’s the main downside to this style of intake. 27WON has done extensive testing with the 11th Gen Si, EX and 5th Gen Integra. When your car sits with the engine running, temps increase. We saw around 20 degrees average increase in IAT before the intercooler in normal stop and go traffic and around 10 degrees at speed. This is before the intercooler. The front mount intercooler (FMIC) does a good job of cooling the intake air. Remember, the turbocharger itself increases IATs quite a lot. That’s why the FMIC is there.

What you’re looking at above is data pulled from one of our test vehicles looking specifically at the Short Term Fuel Trims (%) picked from a random sample of real-world driving. Note, this vehicle has a custom tune and bolt-on modifications. This is very representative of mods an end user might have so we opted to give you a true comparison of what impact our SRI had on these trims. Remember, STFT show fuel being added or taken away by the ECU during that particular drive cycle. As you can see, the lines and scatter plots are very similar with very minimal spikes above what we would call an acceptable range (+/- 15%).
