11th Gen Honda Civic Engine Bay Shrouds Design Pt 1.

We recently launched a complete engine bay dress-up kit for the 2016-2021 10th-generation Honda Civic and you guys loved it!!!! So much so that the 11th gen 2022+ owners asked if we could bring that same bling into their lives, to which we happily replied “Yes”. So, sit back and dive in as we lay out the plan for your next FE1 Civic XI upgrade.

The purpose of these engine bay shrouds is style points no doubt. Popping the hood of your new Civic is a rather boring event. It's a slew of plastic and raw aluminum with wiring and voids everywhere. Not the look you want if you are trying to gain some cred at a local meet or a car show. Let’s start with the outer fender bays and work our way in toward the radiator area to see what we can cook up.

Compared to the 10th gen Civic the fender gaps are much more narrow. In previous years we had a huge grand canyon space to work with and it was just the perfect place to drop tools and hardware down. 10MM anyone? Thankfully on the new car, it's not as bad but it's still not pretty. We are bringing the same clean look of purpose-formed aluminum to the table. Using some clever 3D scanning and CAD modeling we crafted a sleek aesthetic for the driver and passenger side fender shrouds.  We’ll be filling that void with our go-to 5052 aluminum variety for style and rigidity. Check out this nice 3D model below.

Up front, things changed quite a bit as well between generations. One thing you will notice and that we love is that the engine bay in the 11th gen is longer. This makes for a much easier time to do turbo and downpipe swaps. Even the T.I.P.(turbo inlet pipe) installation will be significantly easier on the 11th gen when compared to the 10th gen.

Unlike the previous 10th Gen Civics, these 11th Gen Civic Si, EX, and Sport trims do not have an OEM radiator shroud. Whereas the previous gen had an ABS molded piece that we replaced with our 27WON upgraded radiator shroud, this new car just does not have one at all.

With nothing coming from the factory there, we had an open canvas to create. Style points were the goal so we started playing around with how we would like to bring some beauty to the space. We wanted to keep something simple and clean but also super easy to install. We took careful consideration on how this piece would work with our upcoming performance intake system as well.

We did notice that our radiator shroud will cover the OEM coolant fill and cap. We are on it! More on that in the next blog. For now, enjoy another CAD view of where we are headed

These pieces are going to be super easy to install yet make the engine bay look 10x better. We are enjoying dipping our toes more and more into dress-up pieces for the Honda community and want to know what you think. Shall we continue to add both power and style to our lineup of parts? Let us know in the comments below.

Till next time
